TLDR: I’m once again posting on Facebook-owned sites, Twitter, and Tiktok
However, I am only publishing content and will not be actively using these sites or responding.

→ here’s why I left Facebook (and all Meta-owned properties)

Unfortunately, I’ve seen how difficult it is to stay top-of-mind while being absent from the massive networks of attention that these sites combine to monopolize.
In service of my goal to create a kinder, safer, more equitable world, I am once again publishing where the people are.

Sort of.
I should clarify that I’m not entirely back.
While I am once again publishing to these sites, I am not actively using them.
My attention will not be monetized.
The dominant Social Media platforms have become unchecked safe havens for right wing propaganda and misinformation. Their algorithms have been meticulously manipulated to suppress particular perspectives while amplifying others.
The discourse across these sites has become increasingly toxic, and particularly dangerous for already marginalized groups. Meanwhile, the same platforms have become fertile ground to recruit disaffected people to the causes of white supremacy and outright Nazism.
I refuse to have my attention monetized on these platforms to further enrich the fascist tech bros that run them.
If any attention is going to be monetized, it will be from those who are already there. My posting doesn’t change that equation, but it does increase the chance that some of my ideas might just get through to help someone.
